It's not a bad idea to sim this out. It is, however, a bad idea to come here and ask other people to sim it for you. Please feel free to test this in Simcraft and post your method and your results.

Has there been any simulation done into playing Arcane and staying at 6 stacks, using Scorch when you drop below ~85% mana and only using Barrage if you get very unlucky and get to the point where your stacks are about to fall off without getting a Missile proc?
It anecdotally seems viable, at least.
