yes, though a SP could do the elementals well enough, a warlock doing the same job would work a lot better. Honestly if your range, or mele is having troubling killing elementals, i don't see how you can even hope to accomplish the fight. 6700-7000 hp to kill in roughly 12 seconds (on the short side) isn't hard.
take my self, a full affliction lock, base dmg non crit shadow bolt 1900-2k, in 12 seconds thats 4.8k dmg on its own or i could toss on COA Corruption SL and probably do around 6k in the same time, tossing the a shadow bolt in and just set it and forget it. SL COA Corruption and UA will do 7k dmg in 12 seconds with ease with far less worries about mana that a Spriest.
