Maybe I'm the elitist jerk, but I can't see going through all this hell to get recruited to a raid guild, put in 20+ hours a week, and getting little to show for it. Some are talking about months of 'initiation' time. It sounds like such guilds get tons of applicants, and have trouble getting quality ones. Well, for me, when I go raid guild shopping, I will be asking them questions such as: Will you even bother to lift a finger to help me get stuff to become helpful to the guild. It seems like everyone is an elitist jerk, expecting the world from prospective applicants, and delivering nothing. Sorry, I have a real life, I'm beyond highly educated, and to go through all this stuff just to raid? It's a bit much. Especially since when you join such a guild, and you have all the attunements, how long will it be before you clear BT? A few months? Then what? Game over. I guess I can't get all that excited about raiding if the initiation is so demanding, and the rewards are so low. Ie, research a guild for weeks, transfer over, maybe you'll fit in, maybe not ($25 a shot, 3 month cooldown), play a few months, and thats it. There could be so many other things i could be doing with my time to put up with such nonsense such as making sure you are the lore master of all things and knowing exactly what each boss will drop. I appreciate the point that in order to have a successful raid, everyone needs to be geared up and know what they are doing. I guess my point is some consideration to the trash you are trying to weed out would be nice. I'm sure it gives the weeder some huge satisfaction to reject people though.
