A couple days ago I hit my goal with the haste/damage set. I'm not an enchanter, but this ends up being 177 haste, 1289 shadow damage, 11% hit from gear, and 13.19% crit. This results in 2.7s mind flays, which allows me to get two full mind flays in the 5/5 imp MB cooldown. Since there is a discrepancy between the GCD and spell haste mind blast, being below a 2.75s MF cast is actually beneficial for this build.

I think the jury is still out about whether a haste spec or pure damage spec is better, but as I have added haste gear my WWS reports have consistently shown improvement. Moreover, I personally like the play style more than pure a pure damage one. If I take off the haste gear my spell rotation feel sluggish. I don't have any plans to modify my set until I see Zul'aman and Sunwell, so hopefully I will get some good longitudinal data in the coming weeks and months.
