Alliance have had the upper hand when it comes to fear control for a long time because of fear ward, now when horde get's a hold of it, it's hit by a massive nerf.

And if you look at the alliance racials, you have perception, shadow meld, stone form, gnomes have a very powerful racial called escape artists and dranei have a renew.

Horde have wotf, stunresist, warstomp, silence and berserking. So both alliance and horde have a good amount of useful racials, the myth that horde have astronomically more powerful racials is simply a lie.
