Well i havent posted for a long time here.
But this "dumbening" of the game is getting me more and more depressed.
Blizzard has made a easy game.. but they are making it even more easy as time passes. ( seems to me they alwys will go for the easy way out when facing a problem )
Here are just a coupple of examples that i could think of.
- Normalization to instnat attacks. Was fun to be able to "tailor" your build around AP and use a slow weapon or get +crit / +hit and get another weapon . There were endless debates over barman shanker vs perdition blade etc and was fun to watch . Blizzard made it so it dosent matter anymore so the "casual " player wont bang his head.
- WSG Flag : No more Vanish > get flag > sprint > vanish > get flag > keep sprinting
No more Get flag > run > iceblock for split second > get flag again keep runing
Might as well put a tag on the flag . "Class : Druid/ Shaman / prot warrior ". Why make the game dumber and remove cool mechanics that allowed players to display skill.
- Recent Nerf to AR / Prep rogues. Instead of adding a "hypotermia" effect that allowed rogues to time their AR and not spam them back to back they took the easy way out and just removed it from the ability.
- Even the recent scam protection policy. You cant scam people ( i never did ) or the GMs will ban you and refund your items. I put this as an example because it is essentialy the philosophy that blizzard has taken recently. EXTREME CAREBEARANISM if you can coin that term somehow.
Is a social game where social interaction IS IMPORTANT. Scammers add all the flavour to the trade channel and give you a sense of real life world somehow.
- Rewarding failiure in PvP . When 2 factions face eachother somebody will lose. A lose = 1/3 of a win somehow for blizzard.
- Everytime some player finds a way to brake the mold that blizzard envisioned the gameplay of a certain class they nerf it down so that you are FORCED to play just the same as everybody else. ( Mage arcane spec with TLC instead of fire spec // Rogue haste stacking instead of stacking AP / Crit ) . While the above two nerfs mentioned above were somewhat needed blizzard went the extra mile to ensure that you will play just like verybody else.
- The arena issue with gear, namely resist gear. Instead of trying to fix it somehow creative ( + resist is not allowed in arena / + resist is ignored on pvp targets / + resist items require to be in a instance etc ) they took the dumb way out and banned ALL gear swaping in arena . The good player cant vanish > Switch to full dps set when facing a dot team or FD > Switch to + Hp set or whatever when facing a certain team. ) . They just made it dumb "wear full S3 items lol ".
- Weapon switching for the fast players who used dagger/ sword builds where you insta switch to a dagger > vanish > ambush > sword and keep going.
No more with cooldown on weapon switching.
Blizzard is taking every possible messure it seems that everybody looks like everybody ( T6 gear looks like S3 arena gear ) everybody plays like everybody. There are no more special items ( nerfed warglavies to the point they are equal to Seaon 3 swords for pvp ) ( removed trinets and intersting items from arena ) no more special players with their unique build ( i remembered a proc rogue in old wow .... HoJ + Sword Spec + TF + Darkmoon Card Malestorm .... he was fun ).
Somehow WoW is becoming dumber and dumber .
