But in reality there is always at least one person in your raid, who doesn't listen/understand the concept of max range melee. And unless you're in a high-end-military-structure kind of guild you won't kick that person, but that discussion is already topic of another thread.

As it is, the full frontal attack works for us a lot better then the ideal approach. You should always try the "attack from behind" tactic first, but if for some reason it doesn't work, you can try it the way I described above. And maybe after a while your melee do understand what's important in phase 1 and you can go back to the "attack from behind" tactic.
