Short Version:

Noob 70 rogue with green/blue gear needs spec/weapons that work in Battlegrounds, 2v2 arenas, and is still useful for once per week raiding.

Long Version:

Please help a noob. I've only started playing WoW over the last few months. I've finally hit 70 on my first char (undead rogue), scraped enough gold to get my elite flying mount, and now I'm trying to gear up as efficiently as possible. My guild only does raids one or two nights on the weekends, so I don't think I'm going to get all that juicy T6 equipment any time soon.

I've started speccing for PvP with Shadowstep/Hemo. I had been using Daggers, Ambush, and backstabs. While the big hits can be fun, I've seen other rogues just stunlock/kill me outright both because they have gear and I don't, and because Ambush is only good for the first hit in a fight.

It seems that Battlegrounds and 2v2 Arenas (I have one friend with both a 70 Lock and Druid) are my best chance to get good gear relatively quickly with the light raiding I have available to me. I need something that works great in Battlegrounds, 2v2, and yet still makes me useful when I do go raiding without having to change my talents twice per week.

I love the utility of a Shadowstep build, but when I take out all the ambush/backstab crit talents it just doesn't feel like I'm hitting that hard. I'm used to seeing 3000+ hits even with my crappy gear and these Hemo's are just not putting out the same kind of DPS. Should I be using Hemo Swords, Hemo Fists, or do I need to move to another tree entirely?
