Here's some background. We are a 2/6 SWP guild working on Felmyst. We have 5 tanks in the guild. 2 warriors, 2 ferals, and 1 prot paladin.
Before we even started doing SW, we had a mass guild exodus due to people not wanting to do BT or MH anymore. Most of the officers stayed and we ended up having to refill the guild. Our warrior tanks all ended up stepping out or down. Our one excellent warrior tank stepped down because he was hurting his hands tanking, so I let him switch to Arms full time, which he is fine with. One of the new recruits was Warrior A, a mediocrely geared warrior tank with Illidan experience. He was a damn good tank, so we geared him out with our t6 farm. Only issue was with Warrior A was his seemingly brazen attitude and Main Tank Syndrome. Warrior B, whos been in the guild (and out for a few days once) forever and is not as good as Warrior A grew to dislike Warrior A more and more everyday.
Myself being the tank leader lived to deal with the issues of Warrior A and B and succesfully took the heat of the issues away from the progress of the guild. We had both Warrior A and B successfully work together and tank the first and consecutive Kalecgos kills along with one of our feral druids. Our first Brutallus attempts were with Warrior A and feral druid, however we decided to use both Ferals thereon and proceeded with the kill. Warrior A and B were very disaspointed they got sat. Warrior A made a scene in Gchat, Warrior B went behind my back and complained to the guild leaders about him not tanking enough. Felmyst came along and without my knowlege the guild leaders decide to use Warrior B because he complained and somehow convinced them. Warrior A complains to me and I tell him its not something I came up with but I have to respect my co-leaders, not disrupt the nights raid, and figure out and fix what happened later. Warrior A leaves the guild.
Warrior B remains our only willing and geared prot warrior. However, he is a ticking timebomb in the eyes of not only myself but the guild leaders themselves.
My question is this: how do I save my guild from being helpless because we are out of warrior tanks? How do I bring one in in a reasonable amount of time without him being terrible, or cause the guild problems because they cant exist in a professional raid environment? We came up with a few options:
1. Purchase a geared prot warrior and give the account to someone thats proven sane and is screened to be able to handle the job. Might take a while for a decently geared warrior to come up for sale. Might take several weeks to gearup a cheaper purchase.
2. Find a warrior on the forums, which is difficult and takes time, and 4 out of 5 of them are on PvE servers, not PvP, and most of them won't fit in our guild or can't meet our schedule.
Do we wait for the timer on Warrior B to run out and eventually remove him from raiding/guild, or are we better off putting up with his lackluster skill/bullshit for the rest of Sunwell? Do we put him in the spotlight until we find a sufficient replacement for Warrior A or should either myself or our old tank who hurts his hands help? I myself have minimal prot gear for sunwell but I raid as 17/44
Any of your differring or humble opinions would be appreciated. Has anyone else experienced these troubles late in the game?
