K, now I guess I'm just gunna toss out all the interesting things I see from the new healing priest trees and due to the fact that I couldn’t read all 18 pages hopefully Ill be adding something new to the conceptual look at priest healing in wrath and not just be beating a dead horse.

In a grand portion of TBC priests have kind of gained an overwhelming feeling of misdirection in both the holy tree and the shadow tree… The only place I ever felt truly at ease and on par was in a disc spec because it was so obviously a decent pvp build that Blizzard knew what they were doing with it. Now when groups finally began reaching Tier 6 content and with the release of Sunwell holy priests finally gained some viability with circle of healing that they formally lacked (pre tier 6, paladins have higher pure healing, shammies have way higher raid healing, and druids were far more consistent), leaving priests like feral druids as an off spec that were situationaly useful. With the direction they finally found for priests in this content is where I believe they began the drawing boards for wrath.

With the Tier 10 talent (usually the biggest pure stat improver of a class) improving the healing done by all of priests AOE’s and multi target heals by 10% at 5/5, Holy priests in wrath are going to be cast into the role initially reserved for disc priests which became unviable due to their pure lack of healing, pure AOE and instant cast healing. So if I were to go holy in wrath I would spec
Disc tier1 0,5 tier2 3,2,0,0 tier3 1,1,3 (meditation may become obsolete pending need for COH, if priests need to burst spam then have 15-20 sec of relief before bosses reAOE, imp shield may be more viable for the oh shit factor) tier4 0,5,0 ( best reason to duck into disc in wrath IMO for holy you’ll be casting incredible amounts of instant casts).
Holy Tier1 2,3,4 tier2 0,5 Tier3 0,0,3 Tier4 0,3,0 Tier5 2,1,4 (I added the point in Healing prayers from from holy nova and 1/5 SG cuz I really think the reduced cost of POM will be totally worth it in wrath) Tier6 0,5 Tier7 3,0,0 Tier8 5,0 (If you’re a smart healer serendipity is worthless, if it was to all heals Id take it for overheal on AOE’s but it isn’t) Tier 9 1,1,3 Tier 10 5 tier 11 1.

This build IMO offers a lot of AOE capability with the versatility to still be functional in 5/10 man content with full Emp healing DF and Imp healing.

Now its time for disc which I believe will be the best build in Wrath for both raid viability and Arena though I will be exclusively talking about its raid function for now. Disc in wrath is an attempt to give priests back a feeling of real healing potential while maintaining the pure heart of priests which is offering a vast array of services to a raid while maintaining a personal role at the same time (IE shadow priests with mana return and dps, holy priests with POM and renew for raid support while being on a tank). This goal of bringing a priest back to the potential to truly heal a tank in high lvl content is the basis for my spec and I believe priests will be teamed with a pally for main tank heals in wrath (which will be really nice not getting plopped on the OT every fight of our raiding existence). And with the change of Rapture to only giving yourself mana it opens up a clear message to all raiders that Priests are now gunna be as mana efficient as pallies and have the stats and means to not get stuck at some awkward position in the raid. So with the current info we have on new game mechanics heres my disc spec.
Disc tier 1 0,5 tier2 3,2,0,0 tier3 2,1,3 tier4 0,5,0 Tier5 5,1,2 tier6 0,5 tier7 0,1,0 tier8 5,0 tier9 3,0,2 (this is where I stopped in raid disc, Penance is a good spell but until we know if every tick of it procs grace it just isn’t worth losing SOR and the bonus to healing from SG)
Holy Tier 1 2,3,4 Tier 2 0,5 tier3 0,0,3 tier4 0,3,0 tier5 0,1,5

Problems with this spec your missing Spiritual healing but IMO its not worth losing grace and DA for… it gives a huge buff to your tank, pally healer beside you and on rolling lifeblooms. Also as stated earlier with Rapture priests are finally as mana efficient as pallies or druids which is a huge blessing…

Hopefully I didn’t forget anything, reply if you’de like the disc spec is gunna be mine when wrath comes out so if anyone sees anything terrible about it pls reply.
