First off I would like to say I've read all the initial and very recent documentation on this thread...
My guild has recently began work on M'uru and due to the strict raid composition requirement I found myself falling behind on healing at times, frantically spamming HL to catch up on healing the Sentinel tank while healing the near group's side tank as well.
Until now I have always been socketing and gearing for spell crit, but now I can see how haste would come in handy but I am very worried that it will impact my mana efficiency. Obviously, the faster you cast, the more mana you lose but in conjunction to casting faster it will also proc more Illuminations dependant on the amount of spell crit spent for haste.
With the gear to offer so far I don't have many options for haste, as the book off twins and leggings off felmyst will most likely end up in the hands of a shaman first, which it should. So socketing for haste would get me from ~50/60 haste to 130/140 haste rating which to me isn't a very effective use of gem slots. I believe until I can get the pieces with haste on it I can possibly see a higher return on HPS as a 100 boost in haste only seems to yield about an extra 100 HPS on HL's.
My question; Is there anyone in the same boat as me or someone who has experienced this dilemma and have any useful advice to share? Thanks.
