You still have plenty of time to reroll any profession you want that is best suited to your class and while Mining might not be it, that doesn't mean 500 health is worthless. 35 crit rating is not useful to every class either but you don't really see them complaining.

Either way, if you don't like the bonus, reroll another profession and dump mining on alt or something.

ya that is what i'm donig now,i got an alt char and rolling tailoring and enchanting now,well,since it's a lvl 60 priest,i guess i got to go a long way to be lvl 80 when it comes
