So people actually reported someone for responding to you, which led me to this post which is essentially useless information other than to incite non-productive discussion.

Original Post:

Just to add my thoughts to the fray as an outsider... I have an alt Warlock who I always used for fun since my main was a gimpy prot warrior.
Last night we rolled up a quick ZA group which had 2 Locks.... my alt and another full time guildie. The full time guildie prior to this patch was your typical SB spam lock and was competitive on DPS. Last night both of us were affliction and I absolutely blew the doors off him. I was amazed to learn that he really didn't understand Haunt or any other mechanics that are the bread and butter of affliction.
What this little tale illustrates is that people haven't been use to challenging rotations. We have had a whole pile of locks that have only known SB spam. There is nothing overly complex about any of the trees... I think people are just having to adjust and the natural reaction is to resist change. In the end, the difference between an "ok" and "great" player will be a smaller gap... but it will still be noticable.
Lets face it.... Blizz couldn't give Warlocks more damage. Complaining that everyone caught up seems like a playground argument.
