Dare I point out that the post you're responding to was made prior to 3.0, and thus made total sense at the time; the clarification that it no longer does is, well, not so useful.

Hunter's mark will reach it's maximum AP buff of 440 after 30 shots (roughly 40s) and will stay at 440 as long as it is refreshed before it falls off. So in a fight like Teron that is 4.5 minutes, the last 2.5 minutes you are missing 440 AP that you could have had. Refreshing it after it falls off is bad as well since the stack resets and you have to spend another 30 shots to get it back to full.
As others have said, stack your strongest buffs (Berserker's, and BW) with rapid fire rather than drums and burn them as early as possible so that you can use them more during the fight.
Lastly, your raid has enough physical DPS to warrant use of Curse of Recklessness by one of the warlocks. The increase in raid DPS (probably about 60-100 DPS per physical DPS class), not to mention the extra threat produced by the tanks will outweigh the warlock's personal DPS gain from using curse of doom. This is of course as long as the tank can handle the extra damage and if you can convince one of the warlocks to actually do it.

Not anymore. Since 3.0 Hunter's Mark gives only flat RAP bonus and does not "stack". Also, Imp. HM does not give melee AP but increases bonus RAP by 10/20/30%. Speaking shortly it was reverted to vanilla WoW version. That's because Battle Shout gives RAP too and does not stack with BoM.
