The only reason this isn't an infraction for post splitting is that you did put effort into your post. In the future just quote a portion of a wall of text and then make your response to the entire post. Makes it easier to read and if people want to check the specific portions of the post you've quoted then they can scroll back to it.

I'd be surprised if Ulduar didn't have any encounters where added burst dmg and/or a healing debuff would be more valuable than talents that only really help if you make a mistake (if me or my pet are at risk of dying then the raid is most likely already wiping anyway.)

Likewise, healers who are not familiar with the fight may be less likely to heal your pet, giving imp revive more value should your pet eat a couple of blizzards, or a new tank could get your pet accidentally cleaved.

Again, most encounters you'll be taking zero damage. The encounters where you are taking damage are most likely aoe types of effects in which aoe heals are going to be used or your healers are tossing hots to keep you topped off (most of which will overheal either way.)

Sorry, I thought this would be the appropriate forum to discuss maximizing damage... If you control your pet and get out of the fire those 3 out of 4 of those talents don't help.

I'd wager the fact that Arcane Shot is going to be a part of every hunter's standard DPS rotation is a bigger reason...
Lastly, we won't be seeing "new (challenging/unfamiliar) content" until Ulduar which is who knows how far off. Ghostcrawler has already alluded to hunter changes that will probably change everything which will be included with said content, so any discussion of it isn't much more than wasted breath...
