Would be disappointing that Blizzard has said multiple times that they do not want a rare pet to be the top DPS one due to rarity. Bitching about it doesn't change that fact.

Well, there is still a gap of ~100 dps between those pets (Spirit Beast and Devilsaur). I hope this won't be the case once the patch hits live, however I am afraid it will. Would be disappointing somehow, since a lot of us spend much time in finding and taming this pet.
