If you feel that playing half of the game and having half played for you is the 'right' way to play, then by all means keep playing that way. Just don't expect to find support for it or sympathy from the mod team here.

I want to be able to spend as much time as possible looking at the playing field, I find doing this improves my usefulness in group/raid play. While watching the playing field I am able to react to things that occur, like a mob running towards the healer, or a mob that would be a perfect target for a freezing arrow, as examples.
My shot macro keeps my eye off my action bar (or quartz bars), which is good. Perhaps this could stimulate a discussion on tips to avoid staring at your action bars without resorting to macros (and possibly even AddOns), because I personally don't really have any and tips like that would be rather useful to know.
By the tone of your post I presume you have already L2P'ed, so why not grace us with some constructive tips.
