That's good tool to reduce dmg taken on some bosses. For example when doing achi on faerlina, its 6seconds of dmg reducition, Patchwerk is also good boss for AotD used by tank. Another great use is on sartharion3d - taking breath on AotD is better than IBF, and you don't really have to generate threat much, so you don't have to worry about 3 "wasted" runes. But of course there is some risk on fights like Sarth3d, ghouls can go for dragons, or adds.

Boss - not tauntable by AotD
Any other mobs - AotD will taunt any other mobs, excluding those immune for taunt.
