Nitpick here, I don't see why you'd want to keep multi- or aimed-shotting while in viper, since they restore the same mana per gcd as steady (single target anyway), and cost more - is the damage gained even under the viper penalty actually worth the slightly higher time spent in viper to make up the extra cost?
