You're on the right track 
If you haven't planned it yet you can swap your shield for the badge offhand and then swap some hit gems/socket bonus for more spellpower.
And do not forget than if you have some deep chest guildies, speccing jewelcrafter it's not that hard (i suffered a bit 175->280 but it's ok) and will be a quite valuable asset (what a waste to have to socket 9sp/endu or spell penetration  ).
