No you shouldn't consider a solo warlock to be accurate.
I agree with that, and certainly we wish to see best case. But what I am saying is I read comments like (and I paraphrase) 'wow all the specs are so close and all are viable', which is true but limited in 'real' raids. ie. in a raid where you do not have a second affliction lock or you do not have an ele shaman then aff may perform worse than indicated by this 'best case' simulation.
IF affliction is best than all of your warlocks will be affliction and there by the dps will increase over all.
However, if the specs are so close as the simulation suggests then maybe then there is not a clear spec winner and people will spec by playstyle preference, so then you have to ask is a combo of aff+DP more or less DPS than a aff+aff combo given that DP will outstrip the Ele totem in T8 especially if they fix the SPI bug (which GC has stated is indeed a bug). I also disagree that it's a "very weak" talent as I provide 260SP right now without the SPI being included - we cannot recruit an ele sham, tho raiding all of TBC as aff I am enjoying the change anyway.
I guess the point I am getting at is a DP build will put out that DPS if no other locks are in the raid and indeed close to it without even an ele shaman, whereas a affliction lock will require other afflcition locks in the raid and a ele shaman to reach that DPS. That doesn't invalidate the affliction result but it should be considered when deciding on just how viable a spec is.

you haven't used a doomguard since 3.0
You are correct I haven't, and for some reason whilst I posted what I did about doomguard on page 7 the forum did not include the post until page 10 when others had explained that. I still have a suspicion that the nerfs to aff are done with the idea that aff will be able to use a doomguard frequently on farmed content - ie. I am predicting a slight change to the doomguard mechanic. Notice how with the DG it's the highest DPS again, I believe that may be the longer term intent.
