A few mods i find very usefull on my elemental shaman.
Shaman specific mods
Totemic - Very usefull floating toolbar that houses all the totem buttons in their own school, updates itself as you switch specs *eg gain mana tide or totem of wrath* to the left of these it shows via a small yellow bar the time left on totems.
Shaman friend - mentioned earlier in this thread, very usefull for notification of your shields failing, it also has a feature much like Shields up notating how many charges a shield has left.
I belive a feature called ES tracker is part of shaman friend but basically it makes a focus frame to whoever you cast ES onto, then gives an ES icon next to it, it also monitors shield numbers and time left. Allowing you to easily re-apply ES to your given target without having to switch current targeted and such.
Non specific shaman mods but overall a very usefull one. *if what kinda annoying at times*
Do timer - tracks CD's and current Buffs. by a moving bar located where you place it with a timer on it.
Showing you how long a Flame shock has left or food buffs, Totems and also ^the shaman self crit buff - i forget the name^
Tho for 25 man raids it can be kinda annoying  .
