Depends on your play style where the cap is. But never mp5 over spirit (the second best regen stat is intellect, not mp5). The cap will be "I have enough spirit now, need more spell power." If there's no fight where you have to use all your cooldowns and you end up on low mana at boss death, you probably have too much spirit.

It's probably way too much, if you're gemming spirit in mostly 213/226 gear, you're doing it wrong. You want to stack spellpower and pay attention to your mana bar, you're a druid not a paladin.

It depends. Spirit is the best stat up until you have "enough" of it, "enough" is dependent upon your playstyle. However, once you go over 1k self-buffed, that's plenty in my opinion, start stacking spell power. You will almost definitely have "enough" in "good" epic gear without gemming for it.

Tell him to stack intellect instead and maybe put 1 point in dreamstate (take it out of typhoon imo) and he'll end up with better mana regen and more crit. (I'm assuming mostly 213 ilvl gear) Though, it's probably a lot easier to just get a shadow priest? >.>
