Changes to flasks in 3.1.0
"Pretty much. We couldn't apply the change to flasks retroactively. Instead, you'll find that all Northrend flasks made prior to 3.1 will be changed into "mixtures" when 3.1 goes live. Mixtures can be converted into two flasks of the corresponding type so no loss to the player occurs."
Wich i translate to: The flasks that i have in my inventory will be transformed to the materials they are worth.
Given the fact that i am Elixir Master. I can buy materials for 100 flasks and craft 120 flasks. Then when 3.1.0 hits. They will be converted to materials for 120 flasks. And then i can make them to the equivalent 240 + procs.
Given this change. If it goes the way i see, it means that everyone with flasks in stock will be looking for Alchemists to make them to flaks again. And we can add the fact that prices of flasks will rise since they will be a better choise for raiding than the elixirs (given their better statis).
I am worried for the fact that herb gathering will be slightly increased and there for herb prices should drop a little. However this change as already discussed will make Herbalist that spend given time to farm herbs to gather more herbs wich will go for the same price they value their time for. There for the price of herbs should drop by only a small amount.
To sum it up
Elixir Masters will gain 20% more value for the flasks they have already crafted
The demand of flasks will increase due to their shorter effect making them more valuable for raiding and even BGs.
Picking rate for herbs will be increased leading to lower herb prices.
My conclusion is that if the value of elixirs/flasks per raid remains the same then the market value of elixirs compared to flaks will change in favour of flasks
So given all the changes i think for Elixir Masters there is a potential profit to be made
