Uh, so here's the deal - talk here like you would among adults. You spent the bulk of your post giving us stupid backstory that was, I swear to god, don't give a shit about. Once you concluded the shitty backstory, you asked a ridiculously open ended question. If you check the third post in this thread you'll find me telling people not to do what you just did.

Hail and well met oh fair individuals of these forums.

Today I bring forth my n00bie n00bie post concerning my first unstable steps into the Elemental world. This is due to the fact that I spend most of my time healing the vast amounts of members of my guild that manage to get themselves into fights with dragons and undead. I am now pootling with the elemental spec mainly because we're running a bit heavy on healers, which allows me to get in some practice before the patch hits and I'll automatically become a backup dps.

This parse (WWS) is my second attempt at dpsing as elemental, you'll find me right at the bottom of the list because I specced back to resto once we were done with naxx and went for Sarathion25+3. I'm quite aware that I need more practice on getting my rotation right, but I have no doubt that with a few more practice runs this should be improving. I've browsed through large parts of this thread as well as Binkenstein's excellent thread concerning the basics of Elemental spec. My current gear shows me wearing my max hit gear, since yesterday I was in a raid that had no moonkin or other source of hit, normally I have [Girdle of Recuperation] and [Ceaseless Pity] in those slots. I am aware that I have way too much mana regen, this is mostly due that in all my slots that I do not have a specific elemental item for I am using my healing mail. I have not yet had time to obtain a gem for [Eruption-Scarred Boots] since I only got those last raid, this will be adressed when next I have some time to play.

I have a couple of items in the bank, such as [Fallout Impervious Tunic] and [Leggings of the Wanton Spellcaster] that I am not currently using because I am reluctant to break up my set bonus. I have two healing trinkets, both of which I do not consider using ([Living Ice Crystals])and [Soul of the Dead], I discarded them both out of hand on account of restoring too much mana and thus wasting too much of their potential, but I thought I'd include them anyway, just in case.

What I am looking for in the way of advice is a base evaluation of how I did in this raid (patchwork for example), I want to make sure I am not making any major errors that I am not aware of, and any advice on what my elemental gear needs, I will freely admit to being confused by the graph concerning haste rating, which I find difficult to interpret.

In any regard, thank you very much for your time in trying to assist a poor offspec elemental shammie in trying to compete with the mainspec dpsers in his guild!
