A similar tactic i use instead of the legplates of the conquerer (to much time spent with the smelting etc) is using LW, though it may have already been posted.
I buy up all stacks of borean leather that are under 11 gold and make them into [Nerubian Legguards] these sell for 5g 33s 13c so for one stack of 20 leather that i buy for on average about 9 gold i make 13g ish. Since i spend a lot of time doing other things i tend to buy up large amounts and then go off to uni while my character is making them. Its a good way of just adding to my money i already have.
