I think that the misunderstanding here is not over the "jerks" part of the site's name, but the "Elitist" part. Specifically, about whether this site is here to cater just to the very top-end game content (and players), or whether it's intended to be a site for anyone who is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in WoW.

I'll never be in a top-tier raiding guild. I have two young daughters, a mortgage, and a full-time job, and I just can't devote four or five nights a week to raiding. I'll probably never see hard-mode Hodir. I'll certainly never see hard-mode Hodir 25-man. But I still have a passionate interest in playing my class as well as I can, given the constraints of my time and gear level.

Someone who has never done hard-mode FooBoss may not have experience to back up their assertions. But they can still (as an earlier poster pointed out) draw from other peoples' experience and form valid conclusions. And even if you reject the validity of their conclusions for 25-man hard-mode raiding, their comments may still be valuable for people doing (or preparing for) the level of content they've been doing.

Ideally, what I'd like to see is "best glyph choices per raiding level". The best glyph choice for 10-man non-hard-mode Naxx is almost certainly not the best glyph choice for 25-man hard-mode Ulduar. But just because the person making a glyph recommendation is making it based on experience with 10-man non-hard-mode Naxx doesn't make them wrong, unless they're claiming that their experience extends to justifying their choices for 25-man hard-mode Ulduar.

If you've got 25-m-h-m-U experience, and can make conclusive statements about what does and doesn't work in that context, then by all means do so. That's really valuable to the 0.5% of the WoW population who are also raiding that content. But please don't slap down people who are talking to the remaining 99.5% of us.
