I honestly don't understand why they can't go with the PvP/PvE armour model applied to warlocks. Give the resistance and reduced duration of magics to ice armour and mana regen to molten armour. The consequences wouldn't even be significant in PvP nor PvE AND it's in my mind a preferable to reducing mana cost on our nukes.
