Regen, I respectfully disagree that allowing a heal to get off is a flawed strategy. You must consider the DPS gained by having the raid stacked on a single model. Every dark orb hits all 13 DPS and we are able to coordinate bloodlust and DPS potions with a fully empowered raid. Our kill was in 4:37, which is well within the enrage and the Valkyrs were winding up their 6th special. Had they used a second heal we still would have been within the enrage, and a third heal isn't possible. (Damage Dashboard of our kill). Our raid peaked at 300K DPS and averaged 168K. This could be improved upon by using 1 less soaker, 1 less healer, and/or 1 less tank.

This strategy is more repeatable than those which depend on the entire raid avoiding orbs - our 4 soakers are the only people who have to think. Anyone not in a top-100 guild can relate to having co-raiders with low situational awareness, and by using this strategy they won't die.

In summary, these are the tenets of the "easy" strategy.
- 21 raid members go Dark, including both tanks. 4 raid members go light to "soak."
- The soakers can be equipped with PvP gear, Shadow Resist gear, resist flasks and potions. None are required, but all help. Their damage and healing contributions are negligible.
- Dark Shield will not be touched, Light Shield will be burned through without additional effort.
- During Dark Vortex, nobody changes essences. Divine Sacrifice and dedicate heals to the soakers.
- During Light Vortex wind-up, 2 soakers use Deterrence, Dispersion, or Bubble to clean up all orbs near the two portals that the raid will be using.
- During Light Vortex, a Holy Paladin uses Shadow Aura Mastery in conjunction with divine sacrifice and heals the tanks while everyone switches essences. Our priests use Glyph of Holy Nova to heal the raid here.

We successfully used a variation of this strat yesterday - except we crammed into the door and healed through everything (yes, including light vortex, it's very doable with aura mastery + fire res aura) and we completely ignored the dark twin's heals (she did two). I posted a video.
