I am very new to playing an elemental shaman and have not raided at all. I have done a couple 5 mans so I understand a few of the basics. I was wondering the subjects listed below. I am finishing my powerleveling at the moment and want to become a hardcore raider who also do 2v2 and 5v5 Arenas in their spare time. I don't want a cookie cutter build that will do both but a solid DPS build for raiding and I will dual spec for either healing or PvP. My guess is I will end up Resto for PvP. My questions are:
Talents:
After I start out should I use my talents for DPS or hit? I have read that there is like an 11% hit needed for horde... Some of it should be through talents but I am still unsure as to how much is actually appropriate. If you have the gems at the trainer in Dalaran which ones should i use?!?!? I suck at math which is why I want to know if there is an dthat can do this for shamans. I saw something like this when I was reading the Warrior section but was unsure if it was warrior specific or if I could use the same for my shaman. Is there a build I should use so I don't have to keep respeccing. Also is it better to go for hit in talents or Gems? I would thing talents because u get more SP, haste, and int from your gems than talents. Help me out here. I'm reading it on the forums but it's just not "spelled out and is being done wrather than being said why... is this it?!??!!?
Gems:
I know the +23SP and the +12Sp/5MP5 are awesome and I hear haste is gonna be king really soon. Are there any other gems I should learn to send to my Shaman? I also will start learning the design for haste since I see it is heavily talked about in the forums and have read in the 2.3 patch that haste is extremely important. I have a Alchemist also so I'm not worried about buying gems. I will just make more. I just need to understand why I am gemming the appropriate piece of gear. This leads to...
Add-ons:
What addon should I be using to monitor my stats and dps? I like charts and it inspires me to make my own and show people that I'm not only serious about what I'm talking about but I have physical proof of what I mean which can also be used to a tool to improve my game play.

Edit: I saw a lot of info on other forums located on EJ and got a couple messages as well. I'm not trying to get infractions... I just didn't look in the right place for the info I needed... I saw there was a tool for gear/gem selection in the warrior threads... Not sure if this works for shaman as well but will try it out. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction (those of u who did). I also just learned about the TTT.
I no longer need help with this issue. All of my questions have been answered. Thanks to everyone on EJ! Your advice is greatly appreciated and the information will not goto waste!
