So... you're sure the quoted post is wrong, but you can't find any evidence to support your own point of view? Wait, what?

Paladin taunts are spells and use spell mechanics, so given full buffs and no glyph, you would need 342 hit rating to cap it. Given that we have two taunts and a glyph we can swap in if necessary, I hardly see this as helpful in any real situation (the glyph, incidentally, drops the hit needed by 208).

I'm sorry to burst your bubble but no. While yes, a taunt is spell, the warrior taunt and the paladin taunt both require 8% hit to be capped, this is excluding the glyph. Sadly at this time I can't remember where in this thread of the previous one that has since been deleted (I think it was the 3.2 prot pal guide thread?), but I would appreciate it if someone could confirm my statement as I have no previous posts to use as a reference.
Also to a different post, hit while it isn't a required stat, is never a terrible one. As was said you should get enough hit from your gear (Unless you're full ToTC+ Gear which basicly has 0 hit, a very amount of items excluded). If you don't get enough hit and you want to make sure you're taunt capped without the glyph, you must be willing to sacrifice until you at least each 7%, because then a draenei should cover it with their 1% hit buff.
Personaly I think it's a waste to purposly gem/stack gear for hit. While there is a loss of threat, it's minimal, and the most important part of the hit cap is to be taunt capped, which is achievable through the glyph.
