Mostly, my previous post was more of a scepticism against Rawr's gemming policy rather than just talking generally about gemming.

As I've done some "further" research of the topic itself, seems like it's the generally acknowledged basic reality of bear tanks at the moment - just like you, Deboran stated. Thank you for this.
And as for the gemming itself. I had completely forgot about Nightmare Tear and this is what I'm going to utilise in the near future, if some socket bonuses seem reasonable!
After all this, the conclusion I should make, is that I should mostly listen to my gut and not so much some spreadsheets or calculators.
