So, for the last week I have been messing around in cat form, and decided that I was pretty much just going to DPS as a cat. I don't raid, and I do not plan to raid. Heroics are what I have been doing the last 2-3 days, and I am enjoying myself fairly well, but I have been insulted SEVERAL times for not doing good enough DPS. My char is not decked out by any means, but I still thought that an average DPS of around 1800-1900 was ok for a heroic run, peaking at about 2.4k dps on a boss fight. Nothing amazing, don't get me wrong, but I still think it was good enough to not be yelled at, lol.

Anyway, to my point. The DPS rotation and tactics listed in this are great, and work amazing on the target dummy, and on bosses, but what do most of you do in heroics for trash? Most things die before you can actually get everything up and going, and I rarely get to actually use full combo points for anything, making Rip a boss only skill, and the usefulness of actually trying to stack Rake and Mangle first suspect. Should I just be running in, hitting a Shred for the CP, using Savage Roar and then Swiping until there are below 3 mobs? And if the pull has two mobs, should I focus on the one mob, or try to keep a Rake moving on while, while dropping the other?

I just want to do the best I can with what I have. I am tired of Ret pallies and Warlocks giving me crap that they are doing 5k dps, and the useless cat is only doing 2k and blah blah.

Thanks!
I just build up a quick 3 cp SR and use swipe against several adds else I just mangle or shred.

2k dps in Heriocs is very fine for majority of the instances. Just keep away from the 3 new heriocs.
