This adds nothing to the conversation. BiS lists are just that: best in slot. Not best in slot so long as I'm not taking it from another class that can wear it.

A lot of leather/mail items are currently BiS, if you go this route be sure to the the closest plate item as well because leather/mail will become useless with cataclysm patch.

As well be nice to your Rogue/Druid/Shaman/Hunters guildies, let them have priority on leather and mail items. We can wear plate, they can't.
