Most prot pallys are going to be using JoW anyways, JoL doesnt provide enough that it really counts in my opinion, and if your healers have the much trouble keeping you healed you need either more stam, or you need to bee using seal of light instead of vengeance/corruption.

This is stupid. Not only are tanks not the only people in the raid, but the argument "it's only X mount of Y, it doesn't matter" can be applied to everything. Why gem your gear, why enchant it? You know, being alive while doing lower DPS is better damage than being dead with awesome DPS, so I would definitely try to have JoL up on the boss at all times, and only then JoW.
