READ AND COMPREHEND THESE BEFORE POSTING

For a long time, there's been a few unwritten rules about how and what to post, and they're finally about to become the un-unwritten. Or something.
  1. The first word of a sentence begins with a capital letter, and sentences generally end with a period, question mark, or exclamation point. A smilie is not punctuation, nor is "lol" or any other idiotic, AOL chatroom word/phrase.
  2. If you want to reply to more than one person, or say more than one thing, you don't necessarily need more than one post to do it.
  3. There's no need to split your post into 5+ quoted statements. Rather than making your post "easier to follow", it's ugly and typically turns things into a contest to see who can be more condescending.
  4. Don't bump posts or cross-post to another thread. If you've waited a few days and no one responded, it's not because no one saw it. Go back and read, or do a forum (or thread) search for an answer to your question.
  5. People aren't here to do your work for you or teach you how to play, so don't ask basic questions that you could easily find the answers to yourself. Posting "I'm too lazy" or "I don't have the time" to read the thread is going to get you in trouble.
  6. Don't quote for truth. When the person you're quoting originally posted his thoughts, he wasn't looking for confirmation from you.
  7. One posted "Thank you!" or "Great work!" is good, but it's also sufficient. If it's that important to you to commend someone for his efforts, send a PM.
  8. Don't quote giant images or posts just to add a few lines of your own text.
  9. Each sentence in your post doesn't always have to have its own line. Learn what a paragraph is (which also applies to giant walls of text).
  10. No backseat moderators. If someone puts up a crap post, the best thing to do is report it. Replying with your own off-topic garbage just might get you an infraction as well.
