Do you Res in the arenas?

I have seen this a few times in 5 vs 5 with opposing teams having 3+ healers that if we burst one of there players early in the fight, a healer will sneak off to the side to res a player. As a mana user I have been resed before and its very difficult to have enough mana and health to add value. Do you think it is a vaild technique? Or should it be single elimination? Do you actively attempt to res in 5 vs 5?

A 3v4 situation (with your team having the 4) is a great opportunity to try to res. It makes a match that you're already winning a sure-fire win.

I don't have any problems with the tactic. If you're down 3 to 4 and opponents are ressing on you, you've probably already lost.

Given how long it takes and how much mana it costs, it seems fair (arenas seem the only place where the time and mana cost of resurrection spells is justified).

On the other hand, having Darkmoon Card: Twisting Nether on 2 out of our 3v3 players and having it proc every other death seems a bit much - we've never lost a fight when it procced, even though both people who have the card are mana users.

If some how your opponent's healer has 10 seconds out of combat casting a big flashy spell, it seems you're doing something wrong. That said, yeah, ressing a rogue or warrior would be more effective than a mana user due to the regen needed for a mana user to become effective.

Hell yes I do. And not having a Mage (therefore no drinking) makes it significantly harder since the mana cost is definitely non-negligible and your target comes back with a sliver of HP.

I was utterly confounded when a Hunter just popped back up after we had killed him (and the kill was recorded in the combat log). I think you sir may have just enlightened me as to how he pulled it off.

I have only rezzed in fights we've already won. It's 2k mana and 10 seconds, that is a lot. If you can't prevent that (rez cancels when entering combat, no need to use a counterspell)

Now imagine you had curse of tongues on you ^^

Its a perfectly legitimate tactic and I've been on both ends of it. Fact is, if you end up leaving a guy on his own long enough for them to get a res off (and can't deal with the rest of the team when they're short a healer), you deserve everything you get. And even if the guy has been ressed, if you're quick enough you can 1 shot the dude before he gets healed.

There's always free cheese in the mouse traps, but the mice there ain't happy.
