I just started in the arenas, in a 3v3 team.
We are paladin, rogue and me, a warlock. I wanted to max my stamina too, because i am usualy the target (locks have very low armor, rogues get insane crits on me)

I now have 11.6k with kings buff. That would be around 12.5k with imp out, but imp is useless in arenas.

My shadowdmg is about 740 in that stamina gear (greens & blues + frozen shadowweave set) I only have 1 marshal item, the cloak.

If

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...616839&sid=1#0

is true, resilience is completly out of hand, and WAY more powerfull than I thought or calculated above.
It basicly would mean that resilience is probably calculated as follows:

overall base crit damage (base damage x 1.5 for casters, x 2 for melees) x (1 - crit damage reduction by resilience) = base crit. damage after resilience

(so casters without any talent will do less damage with crits than with normal hits at 33% crit. damage reduction!!!!!)

and now the REALLY funny part, extra crit damage by talents would be:

(base crit damage - base crit. damage after resilience) x extra damage through talents (in his example, 150%) = extra crit damage after resilience

add the two up and you have the crit damage you do. That would mean in high end pvp gaming, extra crit. damage skills are completly pointless. If this holds true, i will also have to change my formulas above.

However, to get 33% crit damage reduction you would need 650 resilience.

I think the highest is 450 with a full PvP/Gladiator set + resilience gem/enchant, so I don't see anyone hitting 650. Once the next expansion is out, you will need more resilience to get the same effect, so most likely people will never hit 33% crit damage reduction.

O That makes me feel so much better...;-)
Well, vs 450 a fire mage will do 115.5% of his normal damage, + crit. points will already be practically worthless...., i start playing a lock right now! *g*

I just registered so I guess this is my first post. Hello all. Lurked for a while and I really apreciate the generally intellegent level of discussion here. Anyhow back to the point.

I noticed one thing no one has brought up yet in this thread is that one point of stamina is not and never will be worth one point of resilience. This is because in blizzards item budget 12 stamina is budgeted the same as 10 resilience (possibly even worse if you look at the halaa pvp gem vs. the solid star). Anyhow that is the number I have seen bandied around and my calculations back that up. So from my perspective considering this resilience is pretty gimped. Even as a lock it really doesn't do that much for me in arenas since it just seems too conditional (this is more "feel" than calculation). It seems kind of like "well it is good if you have two rogues banging on you," but it is useless in many matchups. For me I'll almost always take the extra stam over everything else. But that is not to say I don't take resilience when it comes along on an item. I guess I'm just saying it never seems worth it to stack it at the expense of other stats.

Also this might have changed with 2.10 but I don't believe so. Sorry for the rambling nature of the post.

Stamina costs 2/3 of the value of other stats, so a Solid Star is actually equal to 8 resilience in the item budget.

The only change to Resilience in 2.1 is you can have two 35 resilience bonuses via different PvP sets.

I value stamina higher than resilience due to getting +15% more added via talents (and 3% more health), but if I did not have those talents I would value resilience more.

Azael a Demo Warlock had 450 resilience on Tuesday (not sure if he is still using it), so some people really like stacking resilience.
