No, it looks like it'll just be new 5pc sets that are designed to replace the old ones:

I just hope the leggings won't be such a big dissapointment and mages will get +50% chance not to be interrupted while casting sheep. 30% chance not to dispel detect magic would also be a very strong pvp bonus (I'm serious).

Please, no... anti-dispel talents are so irritating. Makes it feel as though the game is more RNG than anything else.

I really would love to know if honor gear (epic and blue) will also be upgraded or not...

PvE weapons getting +15 iLevels, BS weapons getting +8 iLevels and arena weapons getting +2 iLevels?!?
http://www.shadow-gaming.com/?p=97
Then again maybe we are getting real weapon upgrades in Season 2, and season 2 is only 3-4 weeks out....

I wonder if the new pvp healing is focused towards S2 sets or that they'll add more healing gear with the new sets.

I'm really confused about this as well
"I think posts about this haven't started popping up yet because people think the buff hasn't been implemented yet because the changes were minimal. "
Basically sums it up. The Gladiator's Xbow has apparently already been changed, as well as the armor. The xbow received a .1 dps increase, and a .1 speed decrease(effectively a nerf, but pretty much a moot one) while the armor, from what I've seen, has received tiny benefits, on the order of +1-3 of each stat on the set as a whole. Compared to things like +8 rap, +3 crit rating, etc. per PIECE of t4 or Kara loot or what PvE gear you have, and it seems like this is what's happened.
And considering that most(I believe) of the patch is already available for download, it really looks like it's up in the air. Maybe they're going to change the items again, maybe they already have. I believe there was a blue post a week ago or so that said they still haven't been buffed, but since when have CMs told the truth or known what's going on? It just doesn't make sense for them to slightly buff/nerf these items, and then buff them again so they get a buff just like their PvE counterparts.

I just checked the PTR and the Gladiator's (silk at least) gear hasn't been changed. Not even small changes.

The PvP blue set and non-set epics should not recieve any change other than being cheaper to buy.
However, the Warrior set is now all item level 120 (while the rest of the sets are 110 and chest is 115), so the other Arena sets are due for a small buff.

There is _still_ no healing gear other than the 3 leather pieces in the entire Honor System. I really don't get that, they're making our jobs as healers harder with every patch by nerfing our skills and talents, yet they want to make PVP fights last longer when they don't even provide us with the full gear to do so?
There's no way I could perform the healing required in the Arena if I didn't have Karazhan shield, belt, boots, bracers and the Prince cloak + BoJ ring / neck. I can't imagine what it's like to play a focus targeted priest that wears all these items instead of resilience, I know the priests that wear cloth survival gear can't counterheal our damage.
The upgrades on Gladiator are great, I can't wait to see how a full arena set will perform against blue equipped players in battlegrounds. I was pretty much unkillable by single players before the patch

It's been stated by blue that Season 2 will address the 'other' sets of gear for each class. Healing gear has also been specifically mentioned as being one of these new sets. There are stats on wowhead for the new 1 handed healing arena mace already.
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32451
Don't know if you'll see 'new' gear before season 2, or if honor rewards will see any new sets at all.
Best guessing is putting season 2 at 2-3 weeks from 2.1 putting Live which should be today or next Tuesday.

I take it there's still no word on whether you're better off saving your points for Season 2 set pieces at this point? I'd rather not spend my points only to realize that waiting a few weeks would let me work on a 4-piece set bonus worth having instead of the current one.

I don't quite understand what that is supposed to mean, the Sets are great. It's that nothing but the sets and the main hand currently are covered with healing equipment.

There's an AP cap of 5k, so you shouldn't have points go above that

Regarding if you should wait until Season 2, since the now buffed Arena gear is about equal to Tier 4.5 (10 item levels below Tier 5), I would say Season two is a over a month away, at least until more guilds start getting Tier 5 sets.
Most guilds are at Nightbane/Prince in Kara in progression, so I don't see a need for new Arena gear just yet.

Xet:
Blizzard already said that the Tournament and Arena Seasons are independent of each other. They also said they would give approx. 2 weeks warning, so...you have at least 2 weeks to go. My apologies, but I don't have a link. As for myself, my 5v5 team sucks (1700 ish rating) and I'll be saving the majority of my points.

Guess I'll sit on the points on my rogue until I cap (since the new 4pc is dead sexy compared to the current one), and spend the points on my warrior to replace some really weak slots.

As long as we get season 2 stuff before people start getting T6 it should avoid the PvE to PvP requirement.
