2) How can you complain about engineering of all things being underpowered in arenas? Come back when you're a skinner/miner/herbalist/alchemist/jewelcrafter.

2. I am a jewelcrafter/tailor and I wasn't complaining about engineering being underpowered, I was arguing about the discrepancies between professions and arena capabilities. I have no idea if engineering is overpowered, underpowered, or properly balanced, so I didn't comment on it. Read -> Comprehend -> Post.

Given what works and what doesn't i don't think engineering is overpowered for arenas. I mean seriously:

Rocket boots > why would you use these in place of real PvP kit in an arena? I guess MAYBE as a warrior you might use them in Nagrand arena but other than that they seem pretty worthless.

Trinket items like reflectors won't work reliably and you'll have to give up a slot from them. Rocket launcher too as your one shot then useless trinket slot. All the same i think i'll do some testing with the shadow reflector next time i see a lock/shadow priest team.

The only item i can see being a potentially very useful item in arena is the belt and even that is risky and means giving up a slot that would otherwise be a PvP/resilience item.

Yea...what a shame to piss away a trinket slot on 45 stamina.

As far as the first three, there's a pretty clear line between gathering and production professions (which will only become more apparent since they like the BoP profession items idea). Gathering will make you a lot of gold, but not really improve your character and production will be costly but make your character stronger for each one you have. For me, that's going to mean my main will always be double production and my alt double gather.

JC is supposed to get BoP gems or something along those lines, right? I think they said that at blizzcon. Alchemy probably needs something to help it out though.

If you're the first person to get assisted (like a warlock), this trinket is a sure win for 10% of the games you would loose otherwise. Not very useful if you're one of the less attractive targets.

A good point well made. Definitely time to build one of these - i'd overlooked the stamina bonus /facepalm

When I was doing 2's a couple of months ago there was a shaman (warrior/shaman combo) that would use the boots to jet to the other side of the arena to drink when he ran out of mana. It proved pretty useful in Blade's Edge due to LoS and pathing constraints. My partner was a hunter, however, so in Nagrand he'd just move a couple of feet and pop the guy into combat via arcane shot because scorpids take days to get anywhere. That was the only circumstance in which I'd seen them used, but it probably works pretty effectively simply because very few people would expect it. I think the boot graphic itself is pretty generic, too.

As a hunter, I can see their use. If you get a rogue(with sprint) or a warrior on you, you could rocket away from them and give yourself a few more seconds of breathing room. Probably not so useful in larger scale PvP, if you have support all the time, but it'd be very nice to have in 2's if your healer is CC'd and you're getting focused.
