Thoughts on Ruins of Lordaeron Arena?
So what does everyone think of the new arena so far? My server was down last night so i have not been able to try it out yet. Anything particularly fun or annoying about it?

I rather like it, the fact that you can hide in the started area to make up for lack of LoSable objects is an interesting change.

I don't particularly care for it. It feels excessively large and the middle tomb is annoying in the fact that you can jump over, but not cast through it.

I really enjoy it. I have a moonkin druid alt I've been using to 2v2 with teamed up with an elemental shaman. Our strategy of mount up, charge, and run around like a bunch of idiots really fits the layout of this BG well.
I've been trying to get him to test out water walking on the green sludge but we haven't had that opportunity yet.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake, you just keep on trying 'till you run out of cake, and the science gets done and you'll make a neat gun for the people who are still alive.

I dig it, but I've come across a bit of an annoying problem in whole teams using the middle tomb to LoS my team. It becomes a game of ring-around-the-rosey at times, which isn't unique to this arena, but is bothersome. You can cast through the rocks and such in EoTS and through hillsides in AV, but that tomb is a PITA.
That said, I like the feel of it. I've done a tad of world pvp on the first floor of Lordaeron and always thought it was a neat feel to it. Pillars, hallways, architecture, all very cool.

Players will cut through the corners of the tomb in the middle when feared. Not a huge fan.

SUCK IT CASTERS! Buahahahhahaha. Feel what is its like to have LoS and range issues!
I like jumping over the tomb and just ambushing whomever i see. they don't see it ever. Or someone jumps up on the tomb, gets fireballed, and i chase em down and kill em.
I like it in essence.

It's an enjoyable map, but leaves very little incentive for some teams to leave the starting area.

After playing in it a few times with both 2v2 and 5v5 I definately have mixed feelings about it. The overall feel is nice, but the los issues in 5v5 and fear gliches can get very annoying.

They need to find some way to force people to leave the starting area after a certain amount of time.

It's a double edged sword, fearing someone out of the starting area can screw with there LoS.

One of my 3v3 wins in Lordaeron didn't register last night, at the win screen it said "wins the game", rather than "[Name of Arena Team] wins the game" (or whatever it usually says). Not sure if this is a bug exclusive to the arena, but I haven't had it happen at all in Blades Edge / Nagrand.
Wasn't there to witness it, but my 5v5 team was playing and was experiencing some weird LOS stuff as well.

It's TOO DAMN DARK. LoSing in the starting area is annoying also, it's nothing like in the other arenas where theres multiple routes to chase someone- good luck following someone at low health into their pen when the rest of their team is infront of it!

More than any of the others, it really seems to benefit playing defensively. Because once you're out in the middle, there's not a lot to position around.

This occurred against my team last night.
We were waiting for the opposition to come out, and upon seeing they weren't going to we began to move in for the attack, unfortunately what we ran into were two fire/arcane mages and a shaman. The mages both used AP/blast wave/IAE/POM+Pyro and ripped through our team which consisted of Warlock/Warlock/Priest.
I'm pretty sure they were extremely heavy on spell damage gear and this tactic would only work in the cramped starting room of that arena (They were hidden behind the walls to avoid line of sight).

I really like it. camping the starting area means that the other team can place their totems around the corner while destroying yours.
The size is great for 5on5, something I really hate about Blade's Edge. That one is just too small.

So far I'm not a huge fan, but I've only done 2v2 and 3v3. 5v5 could be more interesting, as long as both teams are fighting in the middle.
I wouldn't complain if there was something implemented that forced players to leave their starting room after x amount of time, or if it was changed to the doors were the entire front of the room like the other two arenas.

Mass Dispels in the room usually does the trick.

I kind of like the Lordaeron Arena on my 2v2 rogue/mage team. Teams that turtle in the start area have never really given me trouble but it could just be our team (invis + stealth ftw!)
I can think of a few things to fix it... maybe an object in the middle you can interact with that drops some kind of aoe into the starting bases, but it can't be used in combat and has a pretty long cast (so you can really only use it if the other team is actually turtling). I'm not sure how well it would work, but it's an idea for forcing teams out of the starting zone...

I love priests that mass dispell when I have UA on 3 of their team mates.
And the idea about being able to channel an AE into a starting room from an object in the middle is an awesome idea I think. Maybe turn it into something like AE curse of agony, where the damage done increases over time. Or even just have it put a stacking debuff on people inside that increases damage they receive by a percentage, or reduces their hp, etc.

I certainly like it more than the other arenas. The best feature is with the addition of a 3rd arena the chance to get Blade's Edge drops from 50 to 33%.

Its only knee deep, you can run through it.
I had to learn the hard way, thougth i could kite a warrior around it to gain some time to heal myself, well... i'll leave the rest to your imagination :/
EDIT:
On the subject; I kinda like it, its quite simple but with a twist in form of a very losable object in the middle (finally some melee loving :P). Havent had problems with teams camping the starting area yet though.

If they removed the tomb int he middle, and forced people out of the start areas, I'd be very happy with it.

It's way too dark for me. It's hard to separate the players.
