Not sure what to make of that.
I love armor, and I hate rogues. Bonus!

Spirit is good for evocate, too. What about spell damage? I don't even see it listed.

Raiding is full of challenge. Sometimes there is fire. You have to not be in the fire.

The Honor upgrades aren't retroactive by the way.

Nope, 7.

2 on the chest.
2 on the gloves.
3 on the pants.

Interestingly, every piece of pally t2 has at least the same amount of stats at t1 did. Apparently that wasn't an across-the-board thing, if we're looking at the mage set.

10 Spell Crit

Set bonuses and "gloves bonus" remained the same. /sigh.
Tier 4->5 is:
Sta: 6
Int: -13
+Heal: 65
Crit: 60
Mp5: 7
Armor: 639
+1 socket

Tier 4->5 is thirteen item levels as well. I think the problem, although it's probably intentional, is that they decided to keep stacking the stamina so it eats a lot of those extra budget points.

I'd have liked to see a higher AP variant of the hunter set (which is AGI heavy), but the armor stats are nicely improved. Still the same lame armor set bonuses that add nothing interesting to actual gameplay (1 sec cd on conc shot, 4% multishot dmg on glove). Still no weapons or jewelry with AGI (all with crit+AP, which plays to warriors only). More AC on cloth means I'll probably suck even harder compared to casters

Cloth AC scaling is going to eventually get out of control probably, while at the other end wasting potential item points? By adding 310 ac to plate sets where it's probably adding under 1% DR against physical attacks is zzz

So I don't get how these changes are remotely fair?

Here’s the changes:

Mage Set:
+6sta -4int +17damage +4res +997 armor....~19 item point diff (ignoring armor change)
Affliction Set:
+36sta -8int +24damage +1hit +6res +997 armor....~43 item point diff (ignoring armor change)
Demo/Dest Set:
+29sta -16int +23damage +3crit +9res +997armor....~37 item point diff (ignoring armor change)

Another way to view it:
Demo/Dest Set:
269sta 69int 198damage 110crit 135res 1837armor
Mage Set:
246sta 81int 192damage 105crit 130res 1837armor
Difference:
+23sta -12int +6damage +5crit +5res....~18 item point diff
First off mages DON’T want armor, I don’t stuggle with warriors & rogues period. 90% of my upgrade points went into a stat I don't even want. Does any mage even use Frost Armor over Molten Armor in arenas (except in specialized situations like War/Pally 2v2)?

I fully understand that warlocks & shadow priests were getting owned by rogues & warriors, but mages flat out weren’t. We have blink, nova, pet nova, slowing effects, ice block etc. Therefore this change is already a far, far, far greater benefit to warlocks then mages.

Second how are these changes even fair item point wise? Warlocks get 18/24 more item point upgrades then mages because why?????

PS Sorry the formatting isn't good on this, having some trouble making it readable without tabs/spaces.

But you have to see the value of a thousand extra armor on a cloth wearer?

I will be watching the development closely.

They need to adjust the formula soon if they keep stacking armor on cloth like this.

I see tremendous value in adding it to warlocks/shadow priests who have no choice but to get hit by warriors/rogues. However, it's not even remotely close to the same benefit to frost mages (which nearly every 1800+ arena mage is).

Well, my experience as a 2100 5vs5 contender differs from yours then, we usually pressure frost mages with a BoF'ed warrior,
and the tactic is often used by opposing teams as well.
I really can't wait till the mage in my team gets this set, it will be 10% less strikes to heal, even if its only so often.
Its yet another survivability feat for the frost mages, not a bad thing.

Did anyone do a shadow priest set recap yet? Most interesting set for me, considering how squish they are at the moment.
If its as good as the mage set upgrade, then I believe focus will be shifted from the priest to the resto shaman in the 'default' setup.. Any thoughts regarding this?

Ps: The totem is extremely disappointing, will anyone actually use this? I don't like using blue quest/drop totems for the arena. Also, the vendor is lacking a healing shield!

I'll fully admit I've never been above 1900 in 5v5 so I am totally open a differing opinion from any top 5v5 teams. This may make the armor upgrade considerably better then I think. In the various 2v2 teams I've been on the armor would be a very small help (except warrior/pally which alone would make me happy). However, I tend to doubt the impact of the extra armor will make anyone change target preference.

On a melee attack of 2000:
Old 1600ish armor (13% reduction) = 1740
New 2600ish armor (20% reduction) = 1600

Does 140 damage per melee attack (no change at all to dots / shadowbolts / frostbolts etc) change much? I know it can add up quick 10 attacks is already 1400 damage, but how much of the incoming damage to mages is melee? This is an honest question, I'm often the target on my 5v5 team (that or our priest), but we're only 1800 so I'll differ to the opinion of the higher teams.

Here is the warrior difference:
Old: 143str 243stam 143crit 24hit 109res 6284
New: 179str 274stam 165crit 42hit 115res 6923
Diff: +36str +31stam +22crit +18hit +6res +639 armor

Here is the druid difference:
Old: 163str 105agi 198stam 72int 139crit 116res 1799 armor
New: 180str 118agi 228stam 98int 152crit 123res 2020 armor
Diff: +17str +13agil +30stam +26int +13healing +7res +221armor

Editted for more info.

Isn't the armor increase on the warrior/paladin sets just the normal amount for the increase in ilevel? I was under the impression that if the number is white it means no item points spent on it and if it was green then points were spent to boost it.

Whats interesting to me is the fact that teams who have access to Vortexes (ices) are going to be at a huge advantage.

The new arena weapons are decent, but none of them top Stormherald (or at least not by a large enough margin to buy one over 1-2 pieces of armor).

Yeah for warriors/pallies that is just the normal increase in armor, the items went from level 123 to level 136. Consider it a free bonus on top of the actual stat point changes.
