..and trying to Fear a Rogue off of you is a helluva lot more complicated than it sounds, even with a Paladin's help. Rogues with all of their cooldowns are very, very hard to lockdown without considerable help from teamates. I sure as shit couldn't get one off of me by myself. Partly because I'm human, but mostly because every single spell you cast they have some way of interrupting. Combine that with attack speed (spell pushback) and things like that. Basically, when I'm PVP specc'd (24/37/0) I just tank Rogues in 3v3 or 5v5s. Then in my 2v2 (Paladin/Rogue) we mostly just lose. There's only so much my trinket, DC and Blessing of Freedom can do. Many, many teams run Priest/Rogue, which actually makes BOF worthless too.

Rogues are like.. the anti-Warlock. The best possible class to put on us and without considerable help from your team, the best way to lock us down.

So people don't dispel Fear, HOT and Psychic Scream, use Tremor Totems, Fear Ward, WOTF or PVP trinkets these days?

Neat!

There's always free cheese in the mouse traps, but the mice there ain't happy.

In my priest/rogue 2v2 team the priest doesn't even bother to dispel freedom off warlocks. It seems that when you leave freedom on them they feel the need to run away from the rogue and leave my priest free to mana burn everything in sight

As part of a 2100 5v5 team, interestingly my strongest contribution comes from Felguard spec. I have tried every other spec (excluding Destro) and, chalk it up to group dynamics/playstyle, Felguard is where I do best. I am definitely all ears if others can convince me otherwise, particularly if it's something that just doesn't cut it anymore above 2100. Basically I stack sta and resilience, and 90% of matches is spent with Felguard on the MA target and CoTing + Fear Healer A, then CoT Healer B, repeat endlessly. I mix in some Corruptions when possible, Fear a rogue when possible, Shadowburn the MA target and Searing Pains if possible. By the end of most matches, I have contributed about 3/4 the dmg of our killer Warrior and nearly as much as our Ice mage. I know Felhunter rocks, and have worked hard to use him instead (I always make full use of a separate Focus HUD which has a Focus Castbar, Focus CoT, Spell Lock, Fear, Devour Magic, pet attack), but honestly I just don't get as good results as with Felguard. I definitly notice that with Felguard out I am almost never targetted, which goes a long way toward messing up 2 healers so badly.

Anyway, that's an overview of non-DoT 5v5 and hopefully hear some good input.

This has been my experience, although my rating isn't great. UA is obviously powerful, but with felguard I am able to do some decent DPS with him on the MA and me just CC'ing healers. It also puts you right down the priority list on the assist train - affliction warlocks are bound to be 1st or 2nd, whereas felguard locks would probably be right down the list above warriors and paladins . I never understood the reason everyone gave Tiz from Flow Gaming/The HUKs so much flak for using one. My resilience is rather poor though (started very late in the season) so as that and my HP increases my view might change.

Same here. Affliction specced, I was the easy kill for the other team´s rogue(s). Demo specced, life has become a lot easier in the Arena.

I play in a team with another Warlock, Shadow Priest, Rogue, MS Warrior, holy priest and resto druid. We always take 2 Healers, never 2 Warlocks. The reason is not that 2 Warlocks and a Shadow Priest can´t dish out some damage, the reason is that we have problems against melee oriented teams. Our Nemesis in our realm pool is a team of 2 MS Warriors, 2 Shamans and a holy Paladin. We are very far away from having even the slightest chance.

But I still think the 5 vs 5 Arena is balanced. "Balanced" doesn´t mean that every Team can win against every other Team with similar equipment. It means that there is the same amount of easy kills as there are impossible opponents.
