[Shaman] Resto Talents in an Elemental Build

At the moment I´m 39/0/22. Personally I love the T3-T4 talents and I wouldn´t change them at all. But I´m curious on the mana conserve I gain from the Tidal Focus and Totemic Focus talents. Calculating the max rank of LHW(440) CH (540) and finally HW (720) Calculating a 5% decrease in casts. Would be...

LHW: 22 (5%) mana saved every cast.
CH: 27 (%) mana saved every cast.
HW: 36 (5%) mana saved every cast.

Now I can safely say my resto set breaks the 10k mark mana-wise and roughly factoring it in...I´m good for straight up 14 HW, 20 CH and 24-25 LHW. Mutiply these numbers by the mana saved per cast and you get....

LHW: 528-550 mana saved.
CH: 540 mana saved.
HW: 504 mana saved.

Now where as HW while shaving 0.5 seconds off might not be suprisingly better in the long run, factoring in where an elemental shaman will only really heal to quickly spot a tank thats tanking a bad beating or a healer just died. The quicker HW might give you more time to speed the falling tank back to full health. Also as an arena combatant myself I also think Imp. HW kicks the shit out of Tidal Focus PVP wise completely. : )

I might just change it on my own but I was curious on other shamans opinions. What I was really curious about was ditching some points on Totemic Focus for Ancestral Healing. My arena partner usually complains about dying too fast and the AH armor bonus might keep him alive longer. The only problem I see is there´s a huge difference in dropping 15% in mana conservacy, especially with costly totems such as Fire Nova/Wrath of Air/Magma Totem...hell even WF when they stick me in a rogue group! Since we´re elemental we´ll stick to the routine PVE setup which is the one concerned about. Normally we stick down these totems. Keep in mind I´m not specced for Totem of Wrath so I´m not listing that as my fire, instead I´ll be placing Searing Totem.

Searing Totem at Max Rank costs 205 mana.
Wrath of Air Totem at Max Rank costs 320 mana.
Mana Spring Totem at Max Rank costs 120 mana.

The calculations with a full 5/5 points spent in Totemic Focus are..

Searing Totem is 51 mana saved.
Wrath of Air Totem is 80 mana saved.
Mana Spring Totem is 30 mana saved.

All in all...It´s roughly not even a lightning bolt....But considering the fact that I could be putting down an earth totem or we have to move and I have to replant all of mine again..it definately adds up really nicely in the end.

What I´m asking is do you think its worth the switch from 5/5 TF to 2/5 TF 3/3 AH?

Thanks in advance. : p

For PvP, I prefer 3/3 AH. The extra ac helps and it's an extra buff to purge off when it procs.

Mana reduction on totems just isn't needed. The most expensive totem you might be dropping in Windfury, and you could just use rank 1 if mana is a problem.
