Have any rogues had any luck double sapping someone?
The trinket doesnt grant any short term immunity, it just clears what you have.
Seems like you could sap, wait for trinket, then resap again instantly. I understand this wont work against tough quick reacting teams, but for the many situations I think this would be pretty neat to try.
Diminishing returns would make it rather useless to try resapping, unless the PvP trinket resets them, which I dout. You'd probably need Dirty Tricks for it or 4 piece S2 bonus, but yo could pull it off technically.
As a warlock I like this change especially against rogues. Being initially cheap shotted, then pounded like a prison inmate only to have my all my forms of damage negated for X amount of seconds is really balanced... /sarcasm off
I'd argue that the CD of Cloak of shadows needs to be extended especially when by the time I run back to my body its up and ready and the rogue can continue to camp me.
Even though personally it helps me more than hurts me I still believe this is not a good move only because as others have said it gives certain classes a bit of an advantage over others. Overall across the board its a bad change IMO.
I played a nice round of 2s last night with a new partner for the season a Holy/Disc Priest. Overall, the trinket change didn't nerf me, it just forced a more tactical use of our abilities -- "okay he trinketed Blind, fear him" -- and although I did have a couple moments where I got blindsided by a Sap break I found that most people still used it on stuns.
Personally I would trade a Sap for a trinket break and call that a good deal. Yes I miss my opener, but later in the fight when my Priest is in the danger zone and needs an 8 second fear, she's going to get one. (Well, except Undead, but I can't exactly complain about WotF. >.>)
I feel so bad for a race without a poison/fear/snare breaker -- an activated DPS ability would have to be ridiculously good to have the same impact on a match as being able to get back into the fight.
I am having an absolute blast trinketing out of freeze traps in BGs. I'm even going as far as to sometimes stepping in them on purpose, just to trinket them, because hunters are still adjusting to this possibility and a lot of them just totally stop what they're doing and stare at me as I hit them after trinketing their trap. I don't know why I find such humor in this, but hey.
So far, I'm liking this change. The balance comes in the cooldown. If they break your sap, they can't break KS later. If they break cyclone, they can't break bash. If they break deathcoil, they won't have an answer for fear. Choosing *when* exactly to use it will maximize effectiveness, and it is the player that will make it seem overpowered, not the fact that the trinket now breaks "x" cc effect.
I'd have to agree, has made PvP much more enjoyable as a group. Particularly against teams who stacked CC against classes they knew could only break 1.
I've only taken a handful of painful sap breaks into my own doom, most have just been trinketed and I save that target for blinding later on.
