Priest Season 2 Set

To all priests out there, would you rather have 2 2/5 bonus (35 resilience) or the 4/5 bonus.

And if you prefer 2 sets of 2pc bonus which 2 would you get as the dps ones? i was thinking gloves and shoulders as they seem to be the least downgrade from the healing ones.

Hope you guys would give input.

Cheers

I am going 2/5 -- 2/5. extra 35 resilience isn't going to hurt. I am shadow so only pieces I could of picked up before 2.1 was chest / gloves / pants. So I only have chest / gloves cause i am lazy didn't start arena till a little late in the season past month and a half.

I have no experience with the 4-piece bonus but currently I'm wearing legs and gloves from damage set and shoulders+robe from healing set. It's really unquantifiable as to whether I like it or not, I'm sure it's doing something but sometimes I wish I could cast that shield 2 seconds sooner.

If you want to double up the +35 resilience bonus I'd go with 2 pieces of season 1 gear and two pieces of season 2, unless you're completely in love with the extra armor of s2 (or in love with the look).

Can you pick either Season 1 gear or Season 2 gear from the Arena Armormaster? I didn't attempt Arena S1 & and am full on teams in S2 so i only know S2 gear.

There was a topic regarding this a month or so back, the end result I believe was something like the 4 piece bonus is better because it helps everyone and not just yourself.

You can buy the previous seasons gear, right now the S1 gear is 15% less then the current price, and S2 (Apparently) is slightly more expensive then the current S1 gear.

Yes, you can. As one Blizzard Poster mentioned, the Arena Vendors will always sell the gear of the previous season as well as that of the current season.
Additionally, the price of S1 gear is reduced by 15%.

Regarding the thread starter's question:

I believe both options (5/5 S2 or 3/4 S2 + 2/4 S1) are resonable, both have their pros and cons. 35 additional Resilience are nice, especially because it's a constant bonus while a shield can be easily purged by many opponents in arena. Shamans, Priests and Warlocks appear quite often and thus your Shield won't last very long anyway. The pros of reapplying something, that will be pruged anway very fast are barely a reason to pick 5 S2. All in all, I don't think it's worth to go only for the set bonus.
What you have to consider is the loss of stats. Whatever piece you decide to switch out, you'll loose around 200 Armor, some Stamina and Addhealing for the 35 Resilience.

Another point to consider is your own group setup. Are you often focus fired or do you have more problems with keeping someone else alive? For example, when you are playing in a team like Frostmage/Warry/Warry/Pala it's very likely you'll be focused as you are the only really squishy target. Contrary, when playing in a team like Warlock/Warlock/Rogue/Pala you might even stand around with some PvE Gear equipped, because both warlocks have to be controlled by your opponent.

As a Shadow priest, I will be going with S1 shoulders+gloves and S2 head/chest/leggings.

It really depends, you didn't give enough info to expect a solid answer.

For 5v5s, I try to get as much resilience as possible, so the double 35 resil bonus is huge. I wear 3 piece gladiator healing gear and 2 piece damage gear. I'll gladly replace those two damage pieces with 2 season 2 pieces when the patch comes out.

As for 2v2s and 3v3s, it really depends on your team makeup and what you're playing against. I have quite a few sets itemracked that I swap on and off as soon as we see what we're playing against. Warlock/Priest? Take off most resilience and swap on more healing/regen gear (so 5 piece healing gladiator goes on). Warrior/Pally? Full stam/resil (double 2 piece bonus goes on), etc...

Ghostz's solution with item rack is a good one for many arena fights. I would also say in regards to the original question it depends entirely on what you're facing and who they focus first, if you aren't being targeted all your defensive stats are useless and you have lost efficiency by wearing them, likewise if you are being targeted if you aren't in enough defensive gear you'll just end up dead.
