Arena 2 purchase order
Come Tuesday I, like many others, will be at 2/5 T2 and 3/5 T1. Now the question is, what next? The 4 piece set bonus is quite delicious and the weapons are expensive, but the healing mace+offhand is a bigger upgrade over my nightstaff of the everliving than T2 is over my T1 pieces. And I would lose the second 2 piece bonus.
So I am curious. What purchase order are others going for? I know druids in 2v2 are very dependent on their 4 piece bonus for kiting, but as I mainly 5v5 I figure I should go for the raw numbers upgrades instead. Am I making a mistake? And what about other classes?

I'll probably go Chest -> Helm -> Gloves -> Shoulders -> Pants, already using S1 Shanker and an ER, and not really amazed by the S2 daggers as a must get now, rather get the new 4 piece bonus.
For a Druid? I'd rather have the run speed bonus as long as possible, although if nobody ever attacks you I could see raw stats being more useful.

Obviously you could go 3-S2 and 2-S1 without any set bonuses lost (and perhaps minimal cost depending upon which pieces are replaced). Whether you want to keep two 2-piece +70 resilience is a rather class specific question I'd imagine. Not really qualified to comment on Druids but for Warlocks I don't find our 4 set particularly worth the resilience loss. Then again, we have 2 different S2 sets that give not-so-much-different stats (one has crit, the other doesn't), which is a rather unique situation among classes.

Yeah I'm going to have a hard time deciding this myself. The offhand is the biggest single slot upgrade I could get.
The speed bonus is such a big deal for druids though. I'm debating going:
Offhand -> Weapon, then work on armor but keeping the 4 piece from season 1 as long as possible.
Or:
Two pieces of season two armor and the offhand, and skip weapon until after I get 4 piece of season 2.
I also had a question regarding the new honor rewards and don't want to start a new thread for it.
Are there new cloaks? I haven't seen any in the linked pictures.

As a paladin, the new gladiator gear is decidedly lackluster. One thing I really don't need is more resilience or stamina...I only really value raw healing stats.
I will either buy helm/chest (those T5 versions are a ways away, but I have access to the other pieces) or the weapon on Tuesday (is the patch even coming out?). I was thinking of putting spellsurge on it (by all accounts in the 8mp5 range) which makes it a wash with Maiden's and 81 healing.
Problem is, nothing else really impresses me; I could make all my purchases for the season in two weeks time. What am I going to spend my points on, ret gear?

I'm planning on going:
Mainhand, Offhand (of course weapons first for a rogue), Pants (because I still wear netherblade for PvP), Gloves (Using Blue PvP gloves), Shoulders (Using Blue PvP shoulders), Chest (Less expensive to replace gems in this than a meta-gem) and then last the helm.

Well I modified the AEP list to more or less suit PvP requirements, compared the items I'm wearing now with the new T2 items, noted down the improvment, noted down the cost and calculated a "total gain" and a "relative gain" (arena points/improvement) out of this.
For me, this list is gloves, chest, helm, legs, shoulders.
Where the improvement from T1 (which I'm currently wearing) to T2 shoulders is very marginal.
Anyway, it all depends on your current gear. Moreover I'm still in need of an offhand, and with the fist weapon still being 1.8 (or did they change that in the meantime?) I will need to save some points for that until they either change it or I decide for another weapon.

Think about going MH fist/OH sword, from what i've seen it looks like it'll be really solid, and you won't need to wait to buy an offhand.

OH Sword -> Mainhand Sword -> S1 Shoulders -> S2 Legs -> S2 Gloves -> S2 Chest -> S1 Throwing Axe.
I spent most of the last season dicking around with 2s and not taking the arena seriously at all once I got my offhand. Now that I know that they'll be releasing PvE upgrades in future sets, I'm not making that mistake again. I'm still unconvinced that the last two pieces of the armor would be worth losing the 35 resilience from S1 two-piece.

S2 Shoulders/S2 Chest
S2 Legs
Uh...S2 melee weapon?(4 piece Hunter bonus is pathetic, will likely stay 2S1/3S2...and the "upgraded" S2 crossbow is not worth 3750 points)

Mh + OH sword -> Shoulders -> Chest -> Helm -> Legs -> Thrown
Weapons will be useful for PvE and PvP alike. Still using dungeon set for Shoulder and Chest slots, so those go first. Helm and Legs are a toss-up, since they're both the world pvp ones (Halaa/Auchindon). Gloves will be dead last if they happen, since they're S1 anyways.
Mainly I am excited about going back to swords.

The order I am going in is legs, shoulders, then helm. After that, I'll have nothing to buy, except maybe the ret set so that my points aren't wasted.

I'm at 2/5 Feleave, and 2/5 Dreadweave and will be going into season 2 with 3k points to play with. My plan is to buy the Spellblade followed by the offhand, then buy Dreadweave pants as they are my last non-pvp armor slot. Then I'm undecided whether to finally replace my netherwing wand, or to buy 2 more pieces of season two armor. Season two armor isn't that significant of an upgrade that I'm dying to get my hands on it, but the wand isn't all that much of an upgrade either.
I'm convinced I can remain rather competitive with season one armor, and would probably be better off hoarding points for a while. The 4 piece set bonus is pretty much trash so no matter what I do I'll be sticking with stacked resilience bonuses

I only have 3500 arena pts saved up for season 2. So..
1. Gloves
2. Shoulders
3. Robes
4. Helm
5. Legs
Then save to 5000 arena pts (staff/wand are fairly minor upgrades).. and *if* they don't give a general timeframe on season 3 and I'll lose points > 5k, I may pickup the staff upgrade since I use it in both PVE and PVP.

5000 saved, prob get Chest->Leggings->Off-hand DW weapon->Shoulders->Gloves->Helm(I really think the helm looks goofy >_>)->Knives.
I'm glad I don't have to be so conerned with my rank this season(Top .5%! Whooo!), just have to worry about maximizing points.

As a caster who's not running Black Temple, I can't justify buying anything before the Spellblade. The only thing that can compare for DPS is the dagger off Doomwalker, and the Spellblade is far better for PvP.
After that I'll probably upgrade the blue PvP pieces I'm wearing since the extra armor is nice for mana-war games against melee/healer teams.

Huh?
Why in the hell would you spend arena points on a weapon when you're wearing blue BG honor pieces? That's insane. Unless you're PVPing for PVE gear, you're gunna want Resilience as a Warlock, not spellpower initially.

Paladins don't collect stamina/resilience gear and people wonder why all these caster-heavy teams are doing so well lately.

I have 2 pieces of the current arena set and 2 pieces of the blue gear (and some SSoE-gemmed Trial-Fires). I have just shy of 12k HP and 300 Resilience, so it's not like I'm drastically lacking in either of those stats.
Going from Grand Marshal's Dreadweave Robe/Gloves to Merciless Gladiator's Dreadweave Robe/Gloves I gain
34 stamina
19 resilience rating (which is about -0.5% to be crit)
468 armor
25 spell damage
Going from my craptastic Greatsword of Horrid Dreams to Merciless Gladiator's Spellblade I gain
12 stamina
18 resilience rating
95 spell damage
Maybe if I had gotten the mainhand from Prince or Gruul I'd feel differently, but I consider the Spellblade a better upgrade considering I spend half my time in arenas and half my time doing PvE. The Arena gear I can only use half the time, the Spellblade I will use for 100% of my play time.

Unfortunately the paladin set isn't a big enough upgrade for me to wear until I can get the 4-piece again, so I have to pick up the armor in any old order until I get 4 pc (I think I'll still wear my engi goggles instead of the helm).
As far as honor rewards go, I'm going straight for the ring to replace my statless prince ring. Then I'm probably following it up with the bracers because mine are terrible. The rest can go any order.

Going...
1) caster sword (best PvE 1hander until Archimonde)
2) head/legs(package deal) to replace my current oblivion hood/legs(wearing them over 2pc voidheart for pet mana regen)
3) Endgame
4) Chest/Boots/Shoulders will come last, if at all.

I'm strongly considering just getting the 2h axe for my first purchase, amusingly enough. The xbow is pretty awful in its current iteration, and if I can pick up some more +hit somewhere I can drop one point in surefooted - not to mention gaining a bunch of crit and resilience over my current PVP melee weapon.

Not to mention some nifty raptor strikes or the odd melee white crit, which everyone still under-estimates in Hunter PvP. Its not like you want to be next to them, but if you cant trap them, you might as well hit them.
