Does anyone know where I can find information on the roster of each team? Just wondering as there is a few teams that I don't recognize or are playing under a different name.

This tournament should be interesting as SK gaming sent there top team down from Europe. I just want to determine if there are any top teams from the other battle groups to take on the "ringers" from the previous two tournaments.

They aquired one of the teams in the euro 5v5 finals a few weeks ago. Can't remember what they were called but I think this is them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think they have a new announcer for the stream. Kyle Phillips (guy on the far right) is Rekuul from Nurfed. So he should offer some better insight as well as analysis than the others have in the past.

Currently I'm watching an unknown local team take a lead over team Fnatic (from Europe). Pretty exciting!

The local team just won, upsetting a top team. Which is pretty awesome considering we see the same teams entering each tournament. Anyone know the team make up on don't hassle us were local?

Yeah, that's Rekuul.

I'm very curious who those "don't hasssle us we're local" guys are on live.

Composition was Rogue/Warlock/Priest vs. Warrior/Warlock/Paladin?

Yeah it was a nice game, a bit of confusion but it seems the local team went 3-1 over Fnatic (the current #3 seeds). Good use of Mind Controlling won it for them, it was nice to see a team do something like that, a little out of the norm.

There is still too much stopping and starting with the WoW arena games, I would probably change the format a bit to provide more in game action. Increase the number of games to say a best of 9 series, and can only respecc or change classes after rounds 3 and 6. That way you would get 3 blocks of 3 games without a break.

Yeah, however Fnatic switched to Warrior/Priest/Paladin I think for the last game.

Looking at the eSports scoreboard, it appears that SK Gaming got knocked into the losers bracket as well. Bad day for the Euros.

Bumping for more WoW on the www.thewsvg.com livestream.

Pandemic vs. TAO :

Pandemic brought Spriest/UA Warlock/Paladin(Noktyn/Kintt/Sck)
TAO brought Warrior/ESham/Pld.

First round: Noktyn dips low, but Sck manages to keep him up long enough for them to drop the paladin with a nice SW + SB crit combo.

Second round: Nicely coordinated fears + tongues, TAOs warrior gets dropped in a hurry, and the Paladin/Shaman can't put out enough damage to threaten Sck's healing.

VVV: I do that.

So people call Blessing of Freedom "bof"? I've only ever heard it called "B.O.F." or "Freedom".

Also, pretty funny that the one commentator believes that Pandemic used that one team as an insult to TAO (although it took him 10 minutes to actually get the words out of his mouth).

Heh, someone from pandemic starts laughing after the second round (TAO lost really quickly) and says "This comp[osistion] is so gay."

The umpire was clearly favouring the home team in those two matches.

I wonder if they told the guy on the left to tone his act down after Louisville. Bringing in another informed commentator helps, too. The announcers are much better this time.

Yeah, I think the WSVG folks just learned why you don't necessarily live-mic players. 5-6 curse words and Kintt's comment about composition in the space of 30s.

Also Rekuul is worlds better as a color commentator than the dude they had before. WORLDS.

They did. IRC was complaining last night that Roddy had his mustache taken away.

So much dead air :-P

It's funny watching the commentary, since I know how hard it can be to keep talking about a game for hours on end from my M:tG internet broadcasting days. It's better than I expected, though

Wait, they did M:tG live broadcasts? My nostalgia missed out.

Round 3:

Pandemic are back to War/Paladin/Priest.
TAO is Priest/Warlock/Mage.

Was a good fight till TAO's mage was feared through the world and cratered, but Kintt had pretty much manaburned them down. Looks like they're going to replay it.

Round 3 mark 2:

Noktyn misses the hamstring on the felhunter but it doesn't matter - Noktyn just grinds them down while Kintt/Sck dance around pillars. Really glad I don't have to deal with them in Stormstrike.

Edit: ok, wandering through decks is bad for me. What designer thought Browbeat was a good idea? Sheesh.

Yeah - they still do, actually, for pro tour finals. I did the color commentary pretty much until worlds 2004, which is about when I stopped playing full time :-P You can go listen to me babble on in the archives if you feel so inclined

Anyway, less promoting competitors' games, more talking about WSVG. Shockingly, team outlast beats team mana. Whee.

Yeh they [Power Trip] are so incredibly efficient, nothing flashy, they just grind out 3-0 results time after time. Really can't see past them for a victor in this tournement.

The MoB Godfather is just gold. Nice to see some real characters there.

*Offtopic* Elendril I am pretty sure I recognise your name from some WoW TCG interviews. You're a creator of the game or work on it at least I think.

*Edit* Fnatic actually lost 3-0 (not 3-1) to Don't Hassle Us We're Local. Seems the Blizzard Spectator UI wasn't working so they called the game wrong.

Not WSVG Dallas, but close enough. Interesting to see the difference in presentation and such, even if you can't really follow the matches very well:

I think that the broadcast would be more enjoyable if they would pick one player's screen to show throughout the match rather than switching between different players/GM views.

One of the main reasons that warcraft videos are so popular is because we can get a chance to see how the "professionals" play. I know that I would be much more interested in watching one of the players screens throughout the match and listening to the team chatter rather than the announcers.

Though I will agree that the announcing is far better this time around. Rekuul brings a lot of PvP and general game experience that the other guys just don't have. All thats left is to drop the moustache guy completely (he doesn't bring anything intelligent or useful to the conversations) and leave it at 2 announcers.

I would actually prefer a view over the entire battlefield, however with the quality of the stream they have at the moment though it is kind of hard to see what is happening. Ideally it would be nice to have the spectator mode, so we can easily see each player's health and mana, as well as the class composition on each team. Too often I forgot the sides mid-battle and can't put a name to a class whilst watching. A HLTV style mode would be awsome but I just cannot see that happening.

Wodin, I hadn't noticed this post until now, I honestly have never heard it called "bof", I also thought he was saying "Bob".

I'd never had noticed this thread if I hadn't needed to come home from the office at lunch, so I watched a little more after my post, and it was the first time I'd see it. But I think they're going to have to tighten up the commentary a bit more. Not having heard the last one which by all accounts was brutal, there is still a lot of room for improvement. There were too many times where someone would go on a long tangent (the guy all the way on the Left when they showed them), and the game is just too quick for that. In "real" sports a good Colour man does that, but only when there is a break in the action, they did this during the game.

I did like the "down he goes!" excited comment when the Warriors died during that second Power Trip / TAO game though, made it seem more exciting than it really was.

I will echo what someone else already said, they need to make the times between games faster, I agree with the best of nine, change after three and six that someone else mentioned...or something to that effect. There was more screen time of teams talking then actually fighting.

I agree. Here's what I'm thinking:
Arena spectator UI

While I'm glad to hear that the commentary's better this time, I think some UI assistance in identifying the critical points of the match would only help.

So is this event taking all comers? That team DGN seemed like it stuck with the enhancement shammy, despite getting their ass handed to them and despite the fact that I don't know anybody who thinks that it is a winning pvp spec.
