I have a friend with a 2,100 rating rogue/druid (also a shaman on the roster). They simply stop queueing when they get the nasty combo teams (warrior/healer, ice mage/ice mage). It sounds lame, but it really seems to be a large part of a lot of high rated teams, especially in the smaller brackets where class make up can mean so so much.
I play a feral druid/MS warrior. We just play for fun and don't really expect to get to a high rating. The other day we came up against a double frost mage team and all they did was poly my partner and kite me with 500 damage ice lances and rank 1 frostbolts. I tried to LoS them as best as I could, but they still were able to get off quite a few of their lances. Add in the occasional nova + double icelance they just wore me down. It was really very very frustrating. I really do hate Ice mages! Especially playing on a melee team =).
I would suggest that if you were 50/50 with wins and losses, change the NS cyclone from the start to NS + heal when needed and it might shift the odds in your favor slightly more. But as with most 2v2 teams, it really does simply come down a lot to set up. If you find yourself against tough combos several times in a row, it might be better to just requeue in 30minutes.
My old 2v2 got to 2,000 rating last season, i had about 100 resilience (we started very late in the season). All we did is repeatedly try and get X/rogue teams as for us, those were just free points. It was cheap..but hey =) It worked!

There is light at the end of the tunnel.
The only problem is, it's often an incoming train.
