Nah i don't think it is, i currently have afflicted and it displays it differently unless i'm missing some kind of option :s.

Afflicted can display data as icons, it's in the options somewhere.

And RDX allows you to switch between completely different desktops. :p

Does Afflicted just do what Antagonist does with a different display?

Yes, Afflicted was designed specifically to replace Antagonist since it wasn't really being updated very much and was difficult to use. Afflicted supports both icon mode and the more commonly seen bar mode. Take your pick.

No it wasn't, Afflicted isn't really close to Antagonist at all beyond they both show timers.

Antagonist tracks pretty much everything thats casted, buff or a cooldown if you want to track every single thing easily like that then you're better off sticking with Antagonist, Afflicted is mostly for useful things like Kick/Pummel/Counterspell timers.

I personally (and most people I know) use quartz for player/target/focus cast bars. They look good and are easy to move/scale.

Have you taken the time to read through this thread? I'm sure there are numerous mods mentioned that cover the first half of your request. The second half would be accomplished through unit frames - either by watching their debuffs or watching a target/focus target's cast bar.

None that I know of - announce it on vent or have your party make their unit frames more obvious. I know many defensive dispellers who will put a mage or warlock on focus so they see dispellable cc coming and are ready to remove it instantly.
